What are you waiting for?

The lovely and amazing performance poet Gabrielle Bouliane performs for the audience at the Austin Poetry Slam.

This would be her last public performance. Gabrielle was diagnosed with Stage Four Cancer shortly before this video was filmed. Our dear sister fought hard, but she ended her fight January 29, 2010. She was surrounded by family and friends, and her passing was in a very quiet, peaceful room full of love and affection. She was so brave.

Playing For Change: Peace All Over The World

Another moving and inspiring music video from Playing For Change.

Peace All Over The World

We met Robert Bradley while shooting our first film, "Playing for Change: A Cinematic Discovery of Street Music." Robert is originally from Detroit, Michigan, but we filmed this song in Los Angeles in front of a Playing For Change graffiti wall painted by a local artist. We had just finished a take of Robert singing "Playing For Change Blues," a song we created while filming across America, and were beginning to interview him. All of a sudden he started speaking the lyrics to this song... We immediately grabbed another mic for his guitar, plugged it directly into the camera and asked him to perform it for us. Enjoy!

Relationship advice for women: making sense of men

A while back two friends sent me an Allison Armstrong video on marriage and I've been a believer of her insight ever since. She does a phenomenal job of breaking down the dynamics of men and women and providing relationship advice on men in a way we can really understand it.

In this video, she discusses her new book, Making Sense of Men, and her realization that she was guilty of frog farming, a tendency to bring out the worst in men. I've never heard of frog farming until now so now trying to figure out if I bring out the worst in my man!

Anyways, the discussion with Allison Armstrong starts around the one-minute mark on the video.

A new world record for free hugs

Watch Andy Dooley, spiritual comedian, in downtown Disney World give out free hugs and try to beat the world record (around a 11,000 hugs).

What are your thoughts on giving a stranger a hug in a public place?

I know I've passed by a couple of people givng out free hugs. The first one I flew by because I thought it was awkward to embrace a stranger. I felt more awkward not doing it after walking by. So when I came across another person giving out free hugs, I went for it and it felt good! Free hugs rock!
